The design scope for this project included connection design for a large military aircraft hangar, hangar office and AMCM building located in Norfolk, Virginia. Per the EOR, the hangar and hangar office were designed using AISC LRFD code and the AMCM building was designed using the AISC ASD code. Challenging connections included the connection shown were vertical bracing connections were attached to an EOR-designed "hinge" for two 192' clear span rotated wide flange trusses. Vertical bracing connections included HSS, WT, Double Angle, rotated WF and standard WF connections. Splice connections, heavy axial beam connections and horiztonal bracing connections were also part of the connection design scope.
