This 3,000 square foot two story unreinforced masonry structure was built around the 1850’s. The Cotton Gin building is currently on the National Historic Register. Restoration includes global stiffening utilizing the Simplified Rehabilitation Method in order to meet Basic Life Safety object per FEMA 356 requirements. Due to the poor quality of masonry and mortar, extensive interior and exterior shoring was required.
