This 8,200 square foot 3 story residential structure was built using structural steel, structural masonry and structural timber for both gravity support and lateral resistance. Per the owner's request, the structure was designed to withstand 150 MPH winds and required a minimum of two timber studs every 16" on center. Due to the open floor plan and the high wind loads, structural steel was critical to the lateral resistance capability of this large structure.
